Fire Extinguisher

  • Visual inspection of the system.
  • Check mains power supply including charging rates (where applicable).
  • Check battery power supply including charging rates (where applicable).
  • Check satisfactory operation.
  • Cleaning control components.
  • Check operation of all system components.
  • Log all test results
  • Retrain the users on the use of the system (if required)

Fire Alarm System

  • Check the graphic command centre PC for proper operation, communication errors, check operating system & data files, verify the operation of the printer.
  • The alarm function of the control panel shall be checked by means of a trigger device in each zone.
  • All auxiliary function of the control panel shall also be tested where practical and rectify the faults of Control Panel’s for physical damage, indicators etc.
  • All fault indicators and their circuits shall be checked preferably by simulation of fault conditions.
  • The control and indicating equipment shall be cleaned and faults rectified at each visit.
  • All connections shall be examined to intact and free from any sort of dust, corrosion, etc.

Exit & Emergency Light System

  • Visual Inspection to ensure that exit & emergency light were installed & distributed on all the areas where it is required.
  • Ensure that all the ELCB assigned to Emergency & Exit lights were properly identified.
  • Switch off the main supply to ensure that all the Emergency & Exit lights was illuminate with battery for at least 2 Hours.
  • Inspect the lights visually whether the luminance is sufficient for the areas.
  • For the Central Battery System, Battery voltage & charging voltage will be checked.

Fire Pump System

  • Check line pressure/gauges/pressure switches and valve condition.
  • Visual inspection of pump room pipe work joint and fitting for leakage.
  • Check Corrosion.
  • Check the pressure switch array and correct operation of Main & Jockey pumps.
  • Activate electric pump, check start sequence.
  • Activate diesel pump, check start sequence and temperature (Where fitted), Shutdown mechanism, check the batteries, charger, water and fuel level.
  • Logging of pumps.
  • Operate the pump.
  • Inspect tightness of foundation and hold-down bolts
  • Check pumps alignment, coupling conditions and integrity.
  • Check for unusual noise, vibration, temperature, leaks
  • Check that drain lines are working properly
  • Add grease to pump anti-friction bearings
  • Check wiring or loose or hot connections
  • Clean and lubricate gland bolts
  • Check service Motor starter contacts
  • Verify free movement of packing glands
  • Check and flush seal water and drain piping
  • Performa comparative field test (flow, pressure and power) with calibrated instruments
  • Inspect sleeves.
  • Verify if worn
  • Check pumps and prime movers operation inclusive of controls.
  • Lubrication of mechanical parts.
  • Response to pumps, i.
  • e., when open operated pumps should start automatically.
  • Response to fire panel.

Sprinkler System

  • Check that all sprinkler piping in pump rooms and on services floors are not leaking and there is no visual mechanical damage.
  • Ensure that the main valves are in open position and secure with padlock and leather strap.
  • Check that the quantity of spare sprinkler heads is correct.
  • Check motor alarm by operating testing valves in sprinkler control rooms.
  • Operate sprinkler pumps and starters by operating of flow switch.
  • Flow of water through system.
  • Inspect sprinklers to make sure they are free of corrosion, obstructions to spray pattern, foreign materials, paint and physical damage.
  • All subsidiary control valves served individual floors should be checked to make sure that they are functioning properly and are not unintentionally closed.

Deluge System

  • Check foam concentrate line valves.
  • Check water inlet line valves.
  • Check foam level in the tank.
  • Check control valve is in the open position and monitored.
  • Make sure drainage is adequate.
  • Test water flow alarm by opening the alarm by-pass
  • Check nozzles for blockage & sprinkler positioning.
  • Response to fire alarm system
  • Inspection of valves, switches.
  • Check for any water leakages.
  • Inspect the deluge valves to make sure: valves are free from damage, no water leakage, no any rusting.
  • Take necessary action if there is any deficiency.
  • Inspect the piping and sprinkler for any corrosion, any foreign materials or any physical damage.
  • Take necessary actions accordingly.
  • Inspect the gauges and make sure they’re in good condition, record the pressure.
  • Check and test activation procedure of extinguishing panel, batteries and test connected devices.
